His photographic and video explorations of extreme wilderness regions has resulted in a collection of some of the finest examples of natural history imagery. Subject matter consists of landscape, wildlife and indigenous culture. His vivid photographic work runs parallel to his love for wildlife illustration. His work has been published in a number of Australian Geographic journals for which he has received the prestigious illustrator of the year award. He has produced images for Australian and National Geographic, Global Books, Weldon Owen, Time Warner and Overlander Magazine.Over the last seven years Richard has travelled on a number of expeditions. Entitled 'Earth Trek', these photographic assignments have taken Richard to the deep interiors and vast corners of the Australian continent to document unique natural history subjects.
